Please make sure you have:

All your direct contact leaders trained in position specific training

All your leaders trained in Youth Protection (only good for 2 years)

All SM’s and ASM”s also need Weather Hazard Training every 2 years (If you have an 18 to 25 year old that are in college, make them a Unit College Scouter Reserve 92U. They only need YPT and if you have an inactive scouter that wants to stay registered, make them Unit Scouter Reserve 91U. They only need YPT.

If a Scout is nearing his/her 18th birth date and is unable to complete requirements such as the service project or merit badges due to disruptions caused by Covid-19 they may apply for an extension. To apply for an extension the form, https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/512-077.pdf and a letter from either the Scout, a parent, Scoutmaster or committee member must be emailed to Shannon.Sinex@Scouting.org before the Scout’s 18th birth day. Shannon will then work with the Council Advancement Committee on the extension approval process.

Counsel actively adding new Virtual Merit Badge Courses to the selection. If a Scout is interested in signing up for an online Merit Badge Class, make sure they speak with their Scoutmaster first to get approval to work on the badge.
